‘Adela’ is a Cinemalaya film. The movie topbills veteran actress Anita Linda as a woman who celebrates her birthday alone, after her children fail to visit her.
Synopsis
A well-known radio talent back in the fifties, Adela now lives alone along the edge of the Berendo dump site that is next to the Manila-Cavite Expressway. On this particular day, she is waiting for a visit from her family to celebrate her eightieth birthday. Her daughter, who works as a housekeeper, comes with the grandchildren of her eldest son. In general, her neighbors are friendly and well-intentioned. However, as she goes about her daily chores, we start to get a better understanding of her restrained honor and her loneliness.
